Students at 21st Century Charter High School in Gary, Indiana are expected to go above and beyond to ensure academic excellence. Taking college classes on a college campus is a requirement for graduating. But one student decide to more than bare minimum and now she’ll be graduating from college before she graduates from high school.
Eighteen-year-old Raven Osborne will receive her college degree May 5th and her high school diploma May 22nd. But how Sway? She completed online classes, year-round community college and two years at Purdue University Northwest. Her semester-long college courses counted as a full year of high school credit.
And with this great achievement, next school year when all of her classmates are going to college she’ll be starting her career as a teacher at 21st Century Charter High School making $38,000/ year. Not bad for an 18 year-old! By the time she’s 25 she’ll have her own school.
