Every now and again, I come across a product or service that completely blows my mind. This week, I was introduced to a phone case shaped like a gun and thought, “who thought this would be a good idea for a product?” Then I thought, “must be a white person.”

I say this “not to be racist”, but only to be truthful.

At a time and climate in America when police are shooting unarmed, black men in the back and getting away with it, no card carrying member of the sane black community would carry a phone in the shape of a gun. Not one.

This must be the work of someone who believes the unarmed shooting of people could in no possible way impact their lives. This couldn’t happen to them. In fact, something of this magnitude doesn’t even cross their minds.

You can do a quick Google search. You will find multiple options, phone case sizes for the popular iphone and Samsung phones. Just about any phone you desire to have a phone case shaped like a gun for about $8 to $15 dollars.

The Ocean County, New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office is warning the public about sporting a particular cell phone case that’s designed to look like a gun.

The prosecutor’s office points out that police officers have a hard enough job “without having to make a split second decision in the dark of night when someone may decide to pull their cell phone out without thinking during a traffic stop.”

Although it’s not illegal, officials say the cell phone case is not a cool product or a good idea.

Only someone with an unprecedented amount of privileged could come up with something like this.
