GOOD OR BAD? Mobile App Pays Students for Getting Good Grades AND Already Has 500k Downloads

Have you heard of the Kudzoo plant? It’s the fastest growing plant in the world and also the name of a new app that hopes to advance students studies by rewarding them for getting good grades!

There is no incentive like money to get someones ass moving and this app pretty much does that. Kids upload their report cards and are rewarded with things such as deals, giveaways, scholarship opportunities, concert tickets, and once in a lifetime experiences.

The idea is the brainchild of Pennsylvanian, African American entrepreneurs, Trevor Wilkins and Logan Cohen.

Speaking with Ebony Trevor said:

“Logan and I met during my freshman year at a Phillies game and we stayed in touch throughout the years. After graduation I brought the idea to her, and I was originally going to launch it as a web site, but with her being very technologically savvy she suggested turning it into a mobile app.”

Going onto say:

“From there, we were able to raise a little bit of money and start building the platform… [and now] we see ourselves as being able to insert our platform into what students are already doing, while giving them that extra support. If we can be that extra sense of motivation, we feel that we can really make a difference.”

The app has already gained over 500,000 downloads.

Do you think this is a good idea?
