David Duke is probably not worth our time and energy these days, but he made headlines again with his ignorant views of the world and willingness to share them.  Duke was the former head of the Ku Klux Klan and a one term Republican legislator.

He said these words from the comfort of his radio show, but the words are echoing around the world and have many in the black community upset at the allegations made.

All of this started with a Nicki Minaj interview she did with Rolling Stone magazine. In the interview, Minaj gave her opinion on black entertainers and their unwillingness to speak about racial tensions in this country and world.

Right, it is hard to believe all of this started over Nicky Minaj, but it did. Here is how it breaks down.

Minaj said:

I feel like when Public Enemy were doing ‘Fight the Power,’ we as a culture had more power – now it feels hopeless.

How many times can you be made to feel horrible for caring about your people before you say, ‘F*ck it, it’s not worth it — let me live my life because I’m rich, and why should I give a f*ck?’

More than likely, Minaj view is echoed by others in the rap, hip hop and entertainment community, but that short sighteness is exactly what got us here in this situation in the first place. However, that discussion is for another time because David Duke took issue with her comments.

Duke said:

Why do people blame blacks like Minaj? Because Minaj wouldn’t be a pimple on somebody’s rear end except for the fact that she is promoted by the Jewish record producers and the media, the mass media, the powerful media, that promotes absolute degenerates like her.

This is when Duke went on to make the comment about Jewish people being behind the rise of rap or hip hop music. And as frustrating as it might be to many of us, he isn’t completely lying.

Because of the black communities lack of willingness to do for self and band together, we are constantly at the mercy of other communities to put out our arts, entertainment and business opportunities. Rap or hip hop is just one of those things that happen to fall under this umbrella and frankly, it is true.

The so-called Jews control the music industry, distribution and the media outlets, so if you want air time, then you need to go through them. Their networks provided the vehicle for rap music to blow up all around the world. We were supporting the music when no one else was, but we didn’t work together to distribute it and make it a global phenomenon.

And with rappers, entertainers like Minaj who are so willing to say “I’m rich, why should I give a f*ck it, it’s not worth it”, it is difficult to see when we are going to come together to do something that will make a difference, like unite under economic unity.
