Delma Noel-Pratt recently made history when she was inaugurated as the first female police chief of Miami Gardens. She had previously serve the Miami Police being a public service aide in 1989 before joining the Miami-Dade Police Department as a police officer for over 2 decades. While working as a police officer with Miami-Dade, she became major where her responsibilities included heading the Miami International Airport and the Miami Port, supervising at least 450 employees, heading he court services functions and Homeland security. So it’s safe to say she is qualified for the position.

It is always excited to see black people progressing. It is always encouraging to see the positive things done in our community by people who look like us because the negativity is exploited regularly by the media.

The chief’s goal is to create a safer city for the residents. Hopefully in the process the department can build more trust with community.

Lol! Yeah. I counted a few, but it doesn’t detract too much from the story! I grew up down that way, and that’s a tremendous accomplishment! ?
