Fired Police investigator Lorenzo-DavisFrom MyFoxChicago.com:

“The agenda is to not embarrass the city. The agenda is, so far, the agenda has been to justify all of the shootings,” said Lorenzo Davis, a former Supervising Investigator.

Davis believes IPRA has lost its independence, and with that the public’s trust.

“With hundreds of cases, the citizens know some of those shootings were not justified,” Davis said.

Trust has definitely been lost in the community.

[ADSENSE2] Davis read from his termination letter.

“Supervising investigator Davis is the only supervisor at the Independent Police Review Authority who resists making requested changes as directed by management.

All investigations are reviewed by three top IPRA administrators before a recommendation about officer discipline is made. Through a spokesman, IPRA declined to comment and released a statement which said in part:

“This is a personnel matter, and it would be inappropriate to address it through the media. IPRA is committed to conducting fair, unbiased, objective, thorough and timely investigations of allegations of police misconduct and officer-involved shootings.

“If the public has no trust in police officers, many of the loved ones of those shot or killed by a police officers say that the police are no better than the gang bangers who are shooting and killing people,” Davis said.
