While the recent police killings of black men in the US continue to mind-boggle security administrators, the Black-owned businesses are reaping enormously from its effects.

One of the businesses benefiting from the nasty situation is the Mechanics & Farmers (M&F) Bank based in Durham, North Carolina.

The bank has seen a jump in the number of new accounts: its online applications for new membership per day have more than quadrupled.

The African American communities are moving their cash from the mainstream financial institutions to the Black-owned bank, something which has made the bank get $1.25 million in deposits in one week.

This means that the mainstream banks will start to feel the heat as a result of customer loss. In order to prevent further departure of customers, the banks and other affected institutions will have to start a campaign to stop the killings and other racial abuses.

This will force governments, and especially security organs, to care more for the black man.

Meanwhile, the Durham Mechanics & Farmers Bank, Citizens Trust Bank and similar banks will continue to benefit as the hashtag #BankBlack continue to trend on social media.

The power of the black dollars will definitely be felt by both private investors & governments and as a result, the lives of African Americans will be valued.
