Should She Have Done This? Colts Cheerleader Forgives Kid For “N****r” Snapchat!

One week ago a storm erupted over a Snapchat video from students at a Russiaville high showed one student complaining “Of course (other student’s name) put me next to the (racial slur).”, regarding being seated next to student cheerleader, Leanna E. at a school event.

On Wednesday Leanna tweeted a photo od her and the white student smiling. She wrote:

“A week ago I was the victim of a racial slur that was shared around the world. Today, I chose forgiveness & feel stronger because of it.”

“To receive the apology and be able to formally and officially forgive him and talk and be able to relate on things and find common ground, it was really comforting and helpful for us,… I’m at peace with it.”

This is what she said in an interview Thursday with IndyStar.

She apparently enquired about the state of the student after all the attention and found he was not doing good, so reached out to him.

He hugged and apologized and she accepted, he said he wasn’t brought up this way and was trying to be funny.

Leanna says she knows he didn’t mean it and the reaction may have been too much. She says she thinks the Trump effect has normalized such behavior!

So, what do you think? Should she have forgiven, should she have told him where to go….. What are your thoughts?
