On the football field, Charles Woodson is one of the greatest players to ever lace up a pair of cleats. He won the Heisman Trophy in college as a defensive player, very difficult to do, and configured a first ballot Hall of Fame football career, but he wasn’t satisfied.

While still active in the NFL, Woodson began thinking about his life after football and understood entrepreneurship would be in his future. However, a chance encounter, a bit of curiosity and friendship lead to his wine business.

After meeting Rick Ruiz and touring the Robert Mondavi Winery learning the wine making process, Woodson decided he wanted to be in the wine business.

Gonzalez, an international acclaimed winemaker, also worked with the duo to create the first barrel of TwentyFour, the name of his company.

Since then Woodson’s TwentyFour has been doing very well making a name for themselves in the international wine communities.

Wine Spectator magazine rated their 2009 cabernet sauvignon a 90 and the 20010 cabernet sauvignon got a 93 and a spot on the magazine’s top 100 list.

TwentyFour’s wines range from $112 to $150 a bottle. You can get an autographed version for $250, if you desire, but there is no doubt Woodson has built a strong market for his wines and hope to continue the growth in the future.
