VH1 cut their reality show ‘Sorority Sisters’ short in it’s first season. The show featuring members of various Black Greek Letter Organizations (BGLOs) from around the country acting out in typical reality show fashion.

There were three episodes left to air, but it seemed pointless to continue once the majority of young women featured in the show were suspended or expelled from their respective sororities.

The organization expelled the young ladies on January 13th, 2015, Founder’s Day for the organization. It turned 102.

The five former members of Delta Sigma Theta removed from the organization are:

Want Details: Delta’s Official Member Expulsion Wording and Page

Delta hasn’t issued an official statement as to why the members have been expelled, but it probably has a lot to do with controlling the image, history and brand of the organization. Delta Sigma Theta has a long and storied history of women at the forefront of every phase of the American society and black culture. It should be protected from shenanigans like ‘Sorority Sisters’.

However, the current leadership of the Deltas while acting quickly to remove the young ladies tainting the image of the organization are still deathly silent on marching and protesting on behalf of the black community against police brutality while wearing organizations paraphernalia. Something, at least in the eyes of the black community, brings honor, respect and purpose to the organization.

If you recall, the Delta organization asked members to refrain from wearing their letters while protesting and marching last month. See our article: Wrong Side of History: Delta Sigma Theta Member DISGUSTED Over Sorority’s Decision on Eric Garner

SOUND OFF: What do you think of Delta’s decision to expel these five members and still not allow their members to participate in marching and protesting police brutality?
