DEAL WITH IT: Queen Serena Is Marrying A White Guy And SHE OWES BLACK MEN NOTHING

Serena Williams is undoubtedly the greatest tennis player of all time and absolutely arguably the greatest athlete of all time. Off the court she is a strong black Queen. A powerhouse of a woman, feminine, strong and unapologetically black.

From standing up to racism by speaking out about racism and sexism and not letting her wealth privilege get in the way of the facts in modern America she has become a voice for young black girls, actually for young people in general, and a model of hard work and confidence.

She is much beloved. It’s always absolute pleasure to hear her speak.

So, when she recently announced she was engaged to marry, off the back of a relationship that was kept largely secret, you would have expected the world to rejoice. The Queen has found a suitable partner.

But Serena didn’t fit the mould that many had made for her (she never asked for or made that mould). She is marrying a white tech dude! The co-founder of Reddit, Mr Alexis Ohian.

That seemed to hurt a lot of people, mostly black men. The attacks started, she was no longer the queen, now she was the ex of Common and Drake, she had betrayed the black community… as if she had lost some of her blackness.

C’mon…. This is misogyny, sexism, racism even?

Serena never has detached from the black community, she has dated her fair share of black dudes, so it’s not like she has shunned or shows any signs of shunning her people…. the people she takes every chance to stand up and talk for.

She deserves congratulations and respect for falling in love. That is, after all, what we all want.

Serena, you owe the black man nothing. You are a Queen and we love you.
