In a day and age when black entertainers, celebrities and people with money are afraid to speak out on black issues, David Banner is proving himself to be not only a man of the people, but a thought leader as well.

The former hardcore, gansta rapper had a “hood” mentality to say the least when he first broke on to the scene. However, clearly this young man has developed a passion for reading, listening to his elders, studying our struggle in America with White Supremacy, and has grew into a man who is intellectually unafraid to voice his positions.

Speaking in an interview about black culture, our people and history, Banner aptly breaks down the issues we face as a community. He boldly discusses how “leaving America” is a fruitless option because where are you going to go to avoid white supremacy? They have spread this madness all across the world to every continent, so there isn’t any place to experience without it.

Black people have nothing to say what happens to hip hop or R&B. It has been taken away from us. Because we have ok’ed and shucked and jived our way…into being a part of America.

We have socialized and we have integrated ourselves into nothingness.

We have socialized and we have integrated ourselves into nothingness.

Integration was the worse thing that every happened to black people. It was worse than slavery.

at least in slavery, we knew what we were fighting against. now we feel like we are a part of something that was designed to enslave us.

He is absolutely right about the above breakdown. However, his analogy of the black experience in America and a computer hard drive is the most poignant of the 3 and half minute clip.
