Cynthia Erivo Will Be Harriet Tubman In Biopic ‘Harriet’

Stepping into the shoes of one of the most important women in African American history is no small task so finding the one to do so for the upcoming bioptic ‘Harriet’ must have been daunting!

But it’s been announced that Tony award-winning star Cynthia Erivo will be wearing those shoes and I think we can all agree this lady is one fine actress!

The bioptic is said to center around Tubman when she helped others escape slavery, just as she did, through the underground railroad. It will also look at her work fighting for women to vote and maybe her period as a spy during the civil war. If done right, this will be epic!

Cynthia Erivo played Celie in the Color Purple on Broadway and is currently working alongside the also excellent Viola Davis in Steven McQueen’s thriller Widows.
