The world is in celebration following the news that Cuban researchers and doctors have discovered an effective cure for vitiligo. This comes at a period where the number of victims to this skin diseases continues to rise globally.
According to the American Vitiligo Research Foundation (AVRF), 1 to 2% of the world’s population suffers from vitiligo.
Scientifically known as Leucoderma, this disease is symbolic with lack of skin color/pigment on certain regions and mostly affects the hands, limbs, face and genital area.
It occurs when the body is unable to produce sufficient amount of pigment producing cells known as Melanocytes. The condition may also develop when the current pigments start dwindling following attack from the body’s own immunity cells.
Studies indicate that about 20% of the cases are hereditary.
Many victims feel embarrassed by this condition and choose to isolate themselves from the public. Others would try to conceal it by using makeup or wearing long-sleeved clothes or gloves.
However, this may soon change following the latest discovery on vitiligo cure.
A group of Cuban doctors and researchers have developed a cure that can eliminate vitiligo and its symptoms.
The medication is made using a type of alcohol that is extracted from the human placenta.
On using the product, the body starts producing more melanocytes which in turn increase the amount of melanin or skin pigment.
