After becoming Compton, California’s youngest mayor Aja Brown has been re-elected as the city’s mayor. She made history four years ago at the age of 31. This year she defeated her opposition Omar Bradley by winning 60 percent of the votes.

“Our unemployment rate has dropped from 18.5 percent to 7 percent so we’re focusing on the last 7 percent to make sure Compton residents are involved in the beautiful restoration of our city,” Brown said.

She urged voters to give her time to complete her 12-Point Plan which includes improving transparency, improving public safety, beautifying the community, and the healthy Compton initiative.

In 4 short years Brown has delivered on the promises she made to Compton voters and is continuing her work, helping the Compton citizens. She is currently working on “largest street reconstruction project” in the city’s history.

“Progress is a process and I’m humbled and honored that Compton voters chose to keep up the momentum and finish the work that we’ve started together,” Brown said.
