Soundcloud has been an immensely popular and important platform for up and coming artists but people were left agast when it was recently announced that even after cutting 40% of its workforce and closing two offices they still only had 50 days of funding left.
The death of Soundcloud would be really sucky for a lot of up and coming artists.
BUT it looks as though it has been saved and by none other than the man who seems to be revitalizing half of Chicago, Chance The Rapper.
After seeing the bad news Chance tweeted at 11am on 13th July:
I’m working on the SoundCloud thing

And then he must have gotten to work, the next day he tweeted:
Just had a very fruitful call with Alex Ljung. @SoundCloud is here to stay.

*airhorn* Spread the word: your music isn’t going anywhere. Neither are we.
