The CBS Reporter Arrested At Cancelled Trump Chicago Rally Talks Of Repeated Racism From Trump’s Supporters

CBS News journalist Sopan Deb has been covering Trump rallies and according to latest tweets has been under constant racism as the rallies seem to get even more racially charged and violent.

Trump’s Friday night rally scheduled at the University of Illinois at Chicago Pavilion went a bit crazy when the cancellation news came in and Deb was trying to cover both protesters and supporters of Trump.

However he was arrested himself and charged with resisting arrest (although video footage shows this was not the case) as he covered the rally.

But what was shocking was tweets from him talking about racism he faced. Here are some of them:

A Trump supporter just asked me at Reno event if I was taking pictures for ISIS. When I looked shocked, he said, “yeah, I’m talking to you.”

The man then repeated the accusation multiple times. I told him, politely, I was with CBS and that what he said was inappropriate.

He said “This is America…be glad that you’re here.” I have a couple guesses what he meant by that.

This isn’t first time this has happened. At last month’s rally in Vegas, man came up to me to say “Go back to Iraq!” I’ve never been!
