Nicola Adams is a boxing pioneer. She has been an extremely important figure in women’s boxing. At Rio she showed who is boss by winning Gold again, as she did in 2012.

The Brit retained her Olympic flyweight title fighting Frances Sarah Ourahmoune, a long time rival. The win was clear on points for Nicola.

At 33 she won’t speculate about a return in 4 years but with he being the European and world champion and a double Olympic gold medallist she has nothing left to proof. She is the most decorated woman in the sport.

She does all this without a hint of arrogance, she is the model sportsperson, a role model to look up to in so many ways.
