Bolivia’s First Black Police Chief Wants to Combat Racism And ‘Decolonize’ His Force

Bolivia has a new Afro-Bolivian police chief, the first black police chief in their history and he wants to ‘decolonize’ his force in order to combat racism.

He was sworn in by President Evo Morales who has been a leader of the decolonization movement in Latin America.

He says he was a victim of racism and punishment when he joined the force and many Afro-Bolivians and Indigenous are celebrating.
