Many have been extremely vocal about their fears of racism in the white house under Trump’s presidency. The appointment of Steve Bannon has heightened those worries and one man really not holding anything back is “The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah.
But there are two sides to every coin and even though it is satire to some degree the comments of correspondent Roy Wood Jr. saying that the racist White House is actually “a great thing.” is starting to resonate with many. But why?
Wood explained:
“Trump and Bannon, they’re not like other Republicans,… They’re not hiding their racism behind voter ID and stop-and-frisk policies. It’s out in the open.”
Wood says that “loud and proud” racism has benefits.
“We live in a country where people don’t even want to admit that racism is a thing,
“Now we’re cutting to the chase and know who’s chasing who.
“Instead of trying to expose hidden racism, it’s on display for everyone to see and that’s easier to deal with.”
On a more serious note David Banner has echoed a similar sentiment, Banner said Trump “May Be The Best Thing To Ever Happen To Black People”?. Now signals a time to get up and get working, to fight, organise and stand tall.
What do you think?
