The Black consciousness community has been on the rise, bringing confidence and a feeling of purpose to many. People like Dr.Umar have risen out as strong, smart and brilliant people.

However, I have been seeing a growing number of people who are feeling extremely left out by the whole movement. If you don’t fit the very narrow decision by the “leaders” of this community as to what it takes to be “Conscious” then you get left on your ass, essentially, you are not in on it, you can get attacked, pushed aside. Many are feeling it’s not that conscious at all and is lacking unity for all black people.

The recent mess around this Seti-Umar beef has brought this to light and off the back of that I have been searching around trying to see what others have to say.

I came across one video, a man who very calmly and clearly lays out the issues he has had with the Conscious community, issues of the lack of unity and many other things. And agree or not fully you have to admit he has a way about him and his words in some senses must resonate.
