BET And Nas Are Bringing His Life Story To The Small Screen

Nas and BET have teamed up to produce “Street Dreams”. He will serve as executive producer to the new biographical series based on his own life.

Named after his 1996 hit the show will pick up Nas’ life in the early 90s in New York City’s Queensbrigde projects. The show will cover his early career and family and friend relationships, as well as Nas’ time dealing crack and through to becoming the man he is today.

The details are being fleshed out but a pilot has been ordered with a script written by Jonathan Levine.

The show was originally going to be a half hour comedy show on Xbox Entertainment but that company fell through and a new producer had to be found. It’s probably a good thing for the concept that it’s BET rather than XBOX!

As Nas has appeared on screen quite a few times maybe he’ll be stepping back into his own shoes as his older self. Who knows who will potray him as a young man!
