What did you do and think about when you was in the eighth grade? Probably not starting a non-profit like these three amazing Cincinatti kids!
And their name is awesome too!
Calling their organisation The Sole Bros they are collecting shoes for the needy.
One of the boy’s, Spencer Boyd, mother gave the idea.
Kellen Newman said
“She said on her recent business trip kids were wearing cardboard shoes and that’s when we were figuring out ways we can help,”
“A little minor idea just turned into something way bigger than we thought it would.”
So, the kids decided to collect shoes in good order and send them to these kids to help with their appearence, comfort and confidence.
Boyd went onto say:
“We want them to feel as confident as we do,” and “When you get a pair of shoes, you want to go and show everybody, ‘I got a pair of new shoes. Check it out!'”
So they are collecting the donations, making partnerships with local business and making headway in getting the shoes where they are needed.
The third boy, Curtis Harrison IV, said:
“People can drop off their shoes and donate to them and then we’re partnering up with the RuJohn Foundation and they’re going to ship the shoes to Jamaica,”
They want to start with Jamaica and move onto Cameroon and Ghana.
Two boys, Boyd and Harrison, are students at Seven Hills school and Newman goes to Walnut Hills school.
So, how can you help?
Well…..
