Africa To Launch Cairo-to-Cape Town Free Trade Zone That’s Bigger Than the European Union & NAFTA

Africa is putting together a power move on the global economic level that has the world sitting up and paying attention. Leaders of 26 African nations have agreed to work together to form a Free Trade Zone to be bigger than the European Union and NAFTA.

The Tripartite Free Trade Area is the name of the trade zone. It will tie together 26 nations in Africa from Cairo to Cape Town economically. However, much of western Africa is not participating in the deal. Nevertheless, a significant portion of the continue will.

The decision to create a free trade area is a powerful one, but has many people shaking their heads at the events that have unfolded.

Before his death, Muammar Gaddafi, the leader of Lybia for decades, was rumored to be involved in trying to unite the African countries to form their own economic union and central bank. Now that he is dead and obviously not leading this charge, outcomes this news that over 50% of Africa is banning together economically.

This leads many black people around the world and in Africa concerned that the Africans might not be in charge of this free trade area and this is just another cover for Europeans to run the finances and resources of Africa.
