Can A Sistah Catch A Break?

After a hard week of being me and doing what I do , I just wanted to escape. I wanted to escape from abysmal test scores in urban schools. I wanted to escape from watching our people talk crazy. I wanted to escape from white folks killing us slowly. I wanted to escape from SCOTUS.

I wanted to escape from caring about POTUS. I wanted to escape from discussions about poverty and lack of adequate services for our people. Escape from listening to all the suffering of the children crossing the borders.

African Americans having to go to the United Nations and seek relief to get water. Yes, I needed to escape.

I needed to escape from orange a**** John Boehner and his House That Represents Them. Imagine a discussion on the Articles of Impeachment. What the f***!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to escape from the greedy a**** Congressional Black Conference. I wanted to escape from thinking about all those African Americans that died so they could sit their avaricious a**** in the house and senate and pontificate.

I wanted to escape from a society that is systematically destroying people of color over the entire world. I wanted to escape from the noose I feel tightening around my neck. I wanted to escape from the racists and oligarchs by any other name. Yes, I needed to escape.

One of my buddies recommended a movie so I decided to get a glass of my favorite drink, kick back, and watch the movie. I turned on the tool guaranteed to induce delta waves.

Oh great I thought , the movie has African American characters. I can watch some black folks and really get caught up in mindlessness. The cast was talented I had seen most of the perform before. I was about to go into the zone.

The first black character they presented was a long time unemployed brother, the only son in the family, and he was angry. He had been given opportunity after opportunity and he just could not maintain employment. The matriarch of the family was single via divorce. She was quite pathetic, no backbone, and highly critical. The father was living with a much much younger woman. There were young kids and she was pregnant. I could not ascertain the parentage of the kids.

There were two sisters in the family one was a professional with all material goods represented. She was addicted to pills. The other sister thought she had a good marriage until she entered her daughter’s room and saw her in bed with her husband.

By this time I stopped the movie and thought to myself, I have never seen this degree of pathology in one movie. Never. They had to have a movie with an African American cast in order to reinforce every stereotypical aspect of African American behavior they have manufactured.

I placed the cd back into the case and thought, D*** Can A Sistah Catch A Break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes!
