I bet you thought Don Lemons got all the ignorant comments out of his system when it comes to the black community, but you would be wrong. He just couldn’t shut his mouth and not say anything about the Samuel Jackson mix up by an entertainment reporter for Lawrence Fishburne.
If you haven’t seen this buy now, Samuel was out promoting his new film, RoboCop. The entertainment report, Rubin, ask him about his car commercial during the superbowl. Jackson wasn’t in any car commercials for the Superbowl and decided to GO IN on the reporter.
Jackson said:
“You’re as crazy as those people on Twitter,” Jackson playfully scolded. “I’m not Laurence Fishburne! We don’t all look alike!”
“You’re the entertainment reporter?” he said to Rubin in an incredulous tone. “You’re the entertainment reporter for this station and you don’t know the difference between me and Laurence Fishburne?”
“My mistake,” said Rubin. “My big mistake. I apologize.”
Jackson returned, “There must be a very short line for your job.”
That was only part of what Jackson said. It was pretty nasty and maybe he didn’t have to go so hard on the reporter for the extended time period he did. He didn’t have to do that, but hey, he did.
Why every time someone in the black community does something, anything there is a segment that feel they must come out and soften the blow for the white community? These sort of negroes are nothing new and Don Lemons is making sure they live on in 2014.
Here some of the words on the Jackson and reporter Lemons had to step in and say.
Don Lemons said:
“People all the time say to me, ‘You look just like Don Lemon,’ and I would go, ‘I hear that all the time!’” “And after a moment I would go, ‘I am Don Lemon!’”
“When someone is in our tribe, I think it’s particularly easier for us to tell them apart, because we’re used to their facial features,” Lemon explained, “Let’s be honest, I’m probably going to get in trouble here –people do look alike! There are features that African Americans have that are similar! There are features that white people have that are similar! Features that Hispanic people have that are similar!”
