Student Home For Spring Break Killed in DC At Rap Video Filming

18-year-old Ayana McAllister was home in Maryland for Spring Break from Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was in DC watching a rap video being filmed when a man is said to have pulled a gun and started shooting.

Ayana died from gun shot wounds and another woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries before officers managed to get to the scene.

Her school posted to Twitter:

A friend of hers was recording the rap video according to her father who told reporters:

“That’s my baby. I just miss her warm smile. The close relationship that we have,”

“They were just spending time with him yesterday. Several kids hanging out.”

No more details have yet emerged about the motive or the suspect.
