Teacher Resigns After Tweeting About Killing Immigrants

Most teachers did not choose the profession hoping to one day become wealthy. Most teachers know they have the ability to change lives and work hard to make a positive impact in their students’ lives.  They are the ones who instill moral and ethical values outside of home, while helping to develop basic learning skills in children. Teachers have therefore become role models to many. So you might become a bit worried when you find out your child’s teacher hates immigrants.

A Phoenix-area teacher, identified as Bonnie Verne recently decided to quit her job following an inappropriate she made. In the midst of Trump’s adamant efforts to deport immigrants, Verne thought her President should just kill immigrants instead of deportation. On tweeter she posted:

@AnnCoulter @dailyrecord Why deport? Just kill them

It comes to no surprise that Verne decided to leave her teaching career after meeting with school officials. She taught for 12 years. Verne regrets having uploaded inappropriate and offensive posts to her account. “I deeply regrets having in recent days made comments using my personal social media account that were inappropriate, offensive, and unbefitting of a Pardes teacher,” the statement read. This tweets began making their way around the internet last week.

There is also another tweet sent from Verne’s account in response to another demanding the deportation of illegal immigrants, it read, “Or we can just put a bullet in their head immediately.”

Following the hot tweet responses Verne was getting from her followers, she has since deleted her account. The school said the teacher’s tweets were not in line with its values of promoting positive language. The school however, said they respect Verne’s first amendment rights, but again said, first amendment rights came with individual responsibility of not making hateful comments, which they had no room for. In the same statement the school said, it maintained policies that had it clear that the personal remarks of faculty members must never, in any way, bring dispute to the school or impinge on classroom activity. It continued to claim that, those policies had been and will continue to be enforced diligently. The school however, never revealed Verne’s political opinions to students.
