As admirable as this officer is in the eyes of many Americans you have to imagine how this video makes black Americans feel. How is that we can look at countless situation like this, of white armed and dangerous men being taken into custody without incident. But unarmed black men who are cooperating with police never make it home to see their families ever again? Not only does he have a gun but he’s not compling with the officer and he’s walking toward the officer but he did it, he subdued him without incident.

Just as Hitler did in the moments leading up to the Holocaust, the media does a good job at dehumanizing black people. Crimes are commented by people of all different races and religions but we hear more about crimes committed by black people. Nine white cops were killed in 11 days by white men and we didn’t hear a peep about it on the news. No one was talking about white on white crime and how insane these white men were for senselessly taking the lives of cops. No one was rallying talking about Blue Lives Matter then.

If white cops cannot treat black “suspects” with the same regard that they treat a white armed suspect they should not work in black communities at all. If a white cop fears the individuals he or she is paid to protect and service, they need not work in that community. It is very disheartening to see a cop use tactic and reasoning when they encounter white suspects but shoot first and ask questions later when the suspect is black.
