The news first came out about a Pastor being shot during a sermon, many said they would wait to get more details. Well, the details are starting to come out of Louisiana regarding the case. It seems like the shooter did have a motive and it was very personal.

The twist to this story is the wife of the man charged with the murder filed rape chargers against the Pastor recently. Just two days before the shooting, she filed the rape charges. However, there is still speculation on if the relationship was mutual between the wife and Pastor or assault. This according to the sheriff over the case.

Woodrow Karey a former deacon of the church, who left four years ago, is charged with fatally shooting Ronald Harris Sr. during a revival service at the Tabernacle of Praise Worship Center in Lake Charles.

“Mr. Karey stated that he had received some inappropriate text messages from his wife to the pastor,” Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso told The Associated Press in a telephone interview Monday that Harris and the suspect’s wife had exchanged text messages days before she filed the rape complaint. It’s not clear if there was a consensual relationship or not, and that will be a focus of the investigation, Mancuso said.

“We’re trying to put all the pieces together,” Mancuso said.

The sheriff declined to release a copy of the rape complaint, saying it is part of the ongoing investigation.

Mancuso said search warrants for phone records and other evidence may help paint a better picture of what led to the pastor’s death.

Mancuso said Karey was cooperative earlier in the investigation but is no longer talking. The name of his attorney was not immediately available.

Mancuso hopes to talk to Karey’s wife later.

There is more speculation and insight coming from this case. Allegedly, the Pastor had multiple relationships in the congregation, the daughter of Mr. Karey may be pregnant, and the relationship with his wife.
