Black Lives Matter (BLM), the international activist movement, campaigns against violence and racism toward black people. After consecutively demonstrating against the deaths of numerous African Americans by police actions for the last three years, BLM now has launched website to promote black-owned businesses. BackingBlackBusiness.com is the official address to land for those who want to support and find black owned businesses. On this web page, just like many others, viewers can find different category tabs and directly make it to the desired business bracket, be it health and fitness, entertainment and society, or comestibles and quenchers.

According to Brent Choi, Chief Creative Officer of J. Walter Thompson New York, the ultimate goal is to “reduce the racial discrepancy that occurs in economic welfare through the elevation of black business ownership.”

The website currently provides information on more than 300 businesses and the goal is to continue updating the website and get other black-owned businesses listed. The growth will continue, it’s up to us to support.
