“Things that make you go hmmmmmm”, is all we can come up with as news breaks the Jury Foreman in the Michael Slager trial had his personal charges dropped by prosecutors during the trial.
Yes, you read that correctly, the lead juror in the trial had criminal charges dropped against him while deliberating the fate of Walter Scott’s killer. How could this possibly lead to a biased vote or sway over the jurors? (We ask sarcastically.)
Dorsey Montgomery was the Jury Foreman. Two years earlier, he was arrested in North Charleston for a breach of trust charge. On November 17th, 2016 while deliberating the fate of Walter Scott’s killer, the charges against him were dropped.
The North Charleston prosecutor who charged Montgomery was unaware another prosecutor dropped the charged, she told the Charleston Post and Courier.
“Then, nearly three weeks into the trial, a prosecutor in 9th Circuit Solicitor Scarlett Wilson’s office dropped Montgomery’s charge without Wilson’s knowledge, she said. On the same day, the judge appointed Montgomery as foreman.” – Quote from the Post and Courier
On the same day he was made foreman, do you believe in coincidences like this?
Michael Slager is the former North Charleston police officer who shot and killed Walter Scott as he ran away from the officer after a traffic stop. Scott was unarmed and fleeing the scene on foot when the officer pulled his weapon, fired and killed him at the scene.
The incident was caught on film by a bystander for the world to watch in horror. In what looked like clear murder to the viewing public, resulted in a hung jury and the freeing of Scott’s killer.
Does any of this stink to the high heavens to you?
