Today is a sad day, Mecklenburg County District Attorney Andrew Murray helf a press conference Wednesday saying that no charges will be fired against Brentley Vinson after he shot dead 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sept. 20th.

Police were pursuing another man when they found Scott waiting for his son to get off the school bus. It ended in his death and differing accounts from witnesses and police. His wife shouted repeatedly that police should not shoot him, that he was acting strange because he just took medicine. This was caught on video.

However Murray said:

“After a thorough review, and given the totality of the circumstances and credible evidence in this case, it is my opinion that Officer Vincent acted lawfully when he shot Mr. Scott,”

Officers ignored her and shot at Scott, he was hit three times and died at the scene.

There was also controversy that maybe officers had planted the gun as can be seen in the video below:

Scott was backing away when shot and he did not raise a weapon. Even the police video showed that.

Officers maintain that he was asked to drop his weapon at least 10 times. However, the fact that he was on medicine was not taken into account.
The family of Scott released the following statement:
