Two White South African Men Forced a Black Man into a Coffin and Threaten to Set it on Fire

Earlier this month, a video went viral on the Internet, showing two white men forcing a black man into a coffin and threatening to burn him alive. The two white men where South African farmers.

Later identified as Theo Martins Jackson and Willem Oosthuizen, both of whom are 28 years of age. They also threatened to put a snake into the coffin.

The victim, Victor Mlotshwa , managed to escape before the farmers could follow through with their threats.

Initially, it was rumored that Mlotshwa stole something from the farmers which lead them to torture him. Mlotchwa later spoke to ENCA television saying the farmers accused him of trespassing, then beat him, and put him in a coffin.

He was understandably relieved after escaping.

The two men – Jackson and Oosthizen have been arrested and charged court with kidnap and assault of the victim in Mpumalanga eastern province.

They were arraigned on the 16th of November, 2016 in a Middelburg magistrate court. The judge ordered that they remain in custody until their second hearing in January.
