Obama is continuing to commute drug offences sentences, giving clemency 98 more on Thursday. This puts his clemency up to 872, however for many many more, they are begging to be next in line as it seems like time is running out!

All 98 were imprisioned for drug crimes, dozens for life, and they will now be able to see and live in the real world again and not die behind bars!

Earlier this month he reduced 102 sentences, in August 325 and 111 were reduced. He has reduced a total of 200 this month.

Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates talked about the announcement saying:

“These grants reflect the Department’s accelerated progress in prioritizing and reviewing petitions that fit the President’s Clemency Initiative. As we’ve said before, the Department of Justice remains committed to reviewing and providing a recommendation on every petition submitted by August 31 of this year that involves a drug crime. And we will continue to prioritize the review any drug related petitions that have been submitted since that time,”
