RESPECT: Alabama A&M Student Starts Dorm Room Food Pantry To Help Struggling Classmates

This young man is showing what it is to be a man after he set up a food pantry in his dorm room to help his fellow students!

Justin Franks is a student at Alabama A&M University , full time! He is also a desk assistant at the campus Foster Complex and is a fast food restaurant manager!

Yet, he found the time for others!

He said:

“I noticed that there were some students that said they ware going to bed hungry,.. So, I thought about it and said, ‘What can I give back to my community?'”

“I started with pretty much just noodles and Capri Suns and I had a few household products like tissue and water,” says Franks.

He started on just $40, pure faith and hardwork, when he posted to facebook things grew, 600-700 shares, it went a little viral and now media outlets like us are reporting about him!

“I didn’t think it would get shared that much, but people really cared about our students and Alabama A&M University,”

“I’m a religious person and I feel like I can bless a student. Some nights, students will be like ‘Man, I really appreciate this because I didn’t have anything to eat.'”

Nearly 100 students have been helped and the pantry is stocked with donations, students in need can get what they need! And he is bringing on more people so it continues once he leaves.

Absolutely awesome and a beautiful soul.
