Black-ish starring Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross is a hit show on ABC. They have tackle current issues about race and stereotypes that effect the black community. Although Black-ish is a high ranking shows on ABC, when you find out how much these stars make in comparison to their white counterparts, you might cringe.
We know that everyone is not created equally, even in Hollywood which is probably why Anderson and Ross don’t make a fraction of what their white counterparts make.
Which is mind-blowing especially since Tracee Ellis Ross just made history by becoming the second black woman since 1986 to receive an Emmy nomination for lead actress in a comedy, Phylicia Rashad was the first.
The stars from Big Band Theory which is in its tenth season make million per episode but let’s just say they worked their way up to million, it’s been on the air for 10 years.
Tim Allen the star of Last Man Standing makes $250,000 per episode while Dre Johnson and Rainbow Johnson (Anthony and Tracee) make $100,000 and $90,000 respectively per episode and their ratings are two times higher than Last Man Standing.
If one show is bring more revenue to your network than another show the actor’s compensation should reflect that. It is good to hear that Taraji P. Henson is making $175,000 an episode on Empire and Viola Davis and Kerri Washington are pulling in $250,000. Although, arguably, those salaries could be higher.
