Clinton Admits His Policies Destroyed Many Black Lives! But Says That Ali Took His “Own Destiny Against the Odds”…

In 1994 Bill Clinton signed into law the crime bill. This included the “Three Strikes” we all know well! It mandated life sentences for criminals convicted of a violent felony after two or more previous convictions. This of course included drug crimes and essentially led to absolutely stuffing prisons with young black men.

Last year, talking in an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour Clinton took some blame.

“The problem is the way it was written and implemented is we cast too wide a net and we had too many people in prison,” Clinton said Wednesday. “And we wound up…putting so many people in prison that there wasn’t enough money left to educate them, train them for new jobs and increase the chances when they came out so they could live productive lives.”

Basically he admitted he destroyed the lives of black families with his bill.

Bill Clinton was recently said to have been chosen by Muhammad Ali to speak at his funeral. And he did just that, giving a touching eulogy.

Part of his speech included this nugget!

“He decided, very young, to write his own life story,” said Clinton. “He decided that he would not be ever disempowered.”

ClintoRuinedBlackLives

This hurts to hear. Clinton’s policies against black people may have broken down 1000 Alis. He didn’t allow some aspects of the community any space for empowerment no matter how hard they tried.

It was great that Clinton apoloized, we can always be happy for that. However as a man myself I believe that if he really was sorry he would be doing more about trying to reverse his guilt. The platform Ali gave him could have been a place to start but he went the easy route.

It’s too little too late!
