ORLANDO TERRORIST: Unstable, Confused, Full Of Hate But If The Black Church Shooter Wasn’t A Terrorist… Well?

Last year Dylann Roof walked into a South Carolina Black church. He shot dead 9 people, a horrifying massacre intentionally enacted against a minority.

For many that was a pure act of terror by a terrorist. To add to the matter Roof had expressed pure hatred of blacks, he had been seen burning an American flag and holding a Confederate one.

However, he is was put out as a crazy loner, the word terror and terrorist were seldom used. His actions didn’t affect policies, race relations towards white Christians. Nothing changed, just another nut case hurting innocent people!

This past week we saw the worst massacre in US history committed by a citizen (the government have done worst against it’s own people).

Omar Mateen walked into Pulse nightclub in Orlando and committed the act that’s left 50 people dead.

This act was clear against many groups of people. Mostly latinos died, however the nightclub was a gay nightclub and it seems fairly certain the act was against gay people.

Whether you agree or disagree with ins and out of the LGBT community we can all stand behind and say these deaths were senseless and incredibly sad. Many black people died in this massacre too so it has that layer too.

Mateen’s parentage his so called terrorist links and the fact that he was a terrorist were being broadcast within hours.

The rhetoric quickly went away from the act and into the details of which terror cell had done this.

This act was not done to the country of America. It was done to the LGBT community, the Latinos, Blacks and other individuals who were enjoying their safe space.

Both the church killing and the nightclub massacre are clear acts to terrorise an individual group, but are they terrorism?

Mateen is already being reported in less prominent media as unstable. And today it’s emerging that he may have been struggling with his sexuality, often a cause of hate crime against the LGBT community. He was previously abusive and clearly not a stable person in any way.

This was not the clear calculated action of a terror cell to upset American Values. This was an act of hate.

However if this in the eyes of the masses was terrorism then by every definition we need to call the church massacre the same.

I would love to know what you think?
