Taking away mandatory education in urban communities would put our children at a serious disadvantage. Parents if you don’t wake up and start paying attention to your child’s schooling and the laws politicians are trying to implement within your districts your children will be far worse off than they ever were. Did our great leaders who sacrificed their time and life for us to have better opportunities in life all in vain? Parents please wake up to what is going on in your school districts, please!
As an adult who works with children in the urban community every day I would honestly have to say many of our children are seriously out of control and have no idea what was sacrificed for them to have a right to a better life. We need to focus more attention on what is going on in our children’s lives and the company our children’s are keeping.
Because parents, if you could witness the activities some of your children participate in as well as the behavior they display when they are not in your sight, many of you would be shocked. I love our children the good and the bad with all my heart and I’m just saying if we don’t start paying attention to what is going on with these law makers concerning our children’s lives as well as our children’s own behavior we are in for some major setbacks in our communities.
Please get involve now before it is too late.

According to the Huffington Post, Senator Osmond wrote:
Some parents completely disengage themselves from their obligation to oversee and ensure the successful education of their children. Some parents act as if the responsibility to educate, and even care for their child, is primarily the responsibility of the public school system. As a result, our teachers and schools have been forced to become surrogate parents, expected to do everything from behavioral counseling, to providing adequate nutrition, to teaching sex education, as well as ensuring full college and career readiness.
Unfortunately, in this system, teachers rarely receive meaningful support or engagement from parents and occasionally face retaliation when they attempt to hold a child accountable for bad behavior or poor academic performance.
