Employees at Houston’s Hilcorp Energy Company are probably still in shock after their bosses gave every single one of them a $100,000 bonus! That was for every single of the 1,381 employees, no matter of their position!

Holy cow!

One of their African American employees, Amanda Thompson, who has been a receptionist with the company for 10 years talked with Fox 26 about the bonus. Here are some of the things she said:

“It’s just a true gift,” said Thompson. “And I think myself, as long as everyone else is not going to give any less than one-hundred percent each day.”

“Mr. Jeff Hilldebrand, and our president Greg Lalicker, they are such amazing motivators,”

“Somedays I just kind of look down the hall and say I cant believe these are my bosses and they’re the best.”

The bonus was said to be for a bonus and Thompson said:

“That was based on doubling the size of Hilcorp over a five year period and we met that goal,” “And we all were able to celebrate and enjoy that life changing day together. We cried with happiness for each other, we hugged.”

This is not the first time the company have helped their employees. In 2010 they were offered a car or $50k and they often give smaller bonuses in the year.

This time it’s a real jackpot and of course some are retiring, splashing out but Thompson is being sensible and putting a thick liner on her bank account.

Hilcorp is one of the largest privately-held oil and natural gas exploration and production companies in the United States and was also named to the 2015 FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For list. That makes it their third year in a row on that list.

If only more companies followed this model and really took care of their own.
