Malik, Ahmed and Kahlil Jones just graduated Georgetown Day School. The D.C. triplets are in an extremely rare situation. All three of them scored within points of each other on their SAT with a 3.7 GPA giving them the choice between two Ivy League colleges.
They now have to choose between Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania.
They attribute their amazing performance to inter sibling rivalry and their parents.
The black teens are just a string of an ever growing larger group of black Ivy League entrants this spring. The list includes Kwasi Enin, Avery Coffey and Akintunde Ahmad who all have multiple choices!
Harvard is also stating a record number of black admissions this year!
Sadly there is still a long way to go in the USA with black college entrants being hugely proportionally less than white entrants. In 2007 minority entrants were around 32%, I am sure they have risen a bit since then but by no means equal which is interesting seeing as white and black high school graduation is not too far from each other.
