Diversity Counts Your Vote Counts . . . Wake Up
The 2016 election is looming and the field is narrowing on the Republican side while the Democrats are just warming up. No front-runner is yet selected by either party but the Republicans have issues no matter who their nominee is for the White House. Serious issues. Big issues. TEXAS size issues.
In the general election your vote does count and getting the vote out does matter. IF the GOP loses Texas with it’s 33 electoral votes it’s basically impossible for them to win the Presidency. . . EVER again.
Texas, a tried and true Red state since Lyndon B. Johnson, is slowing and progressively turning Blue! More diversity in the Texas population is occurring because the big cities in Texas; Houston, San Antonio and Dallas Fort Worth, have a more technology jobs that attracts a more diverse group of people. The bigger cities have increased not only the Hispanic/Latino population but the Asian and Black American population as well.
With the GOP’s front-runners alienating these groups, and others, the Dems have embraced them, courted them and supported them. Well as best they can, nothing is ever perfect. Even if you looked at the moderators and audience in last night’s debate, you saw someone like you unlike the Republican debate and in the Republican Party.
The GOP knows fully well they have serious issues with diversity, they know their message is not resonating equally throughout the country; they know they cannot please and appease their base and grow into an inclusive party.
Their ultimate solution? Suppress the vote. Wake up, vote on the local level, vote on the state level and vote on the national level, or when you wake up, you will not have a vote that counts.
