Kelly Mayhew, age 34, was the victim of botched butt implants in the United States this past June. Mayhew drove from Maryland to New York with her mother for the surgery. However, she didn’t leave the butt implant surgery with her life.
The Medical Examiner spokeswoman Julie Bolcer made the announcement last week that the silicone injection into the rear end of Mayhew was the result of her death.
“The cause of death is systemic silicone emboli due to cosmetic silicone injections of buttocks,” Medical Examiner spokeswoman Julie Bolcer told the News. “The manner of death is homicide.”
The butt implant operation took place at the home of the unidentified “surgeon” in their basement. Apparently, after the inject was made, Mayhew had difficulty breating and her mother grew concerned. She asked the “doctor” to call 911 while she performed CPR on her daughter. However, the “doctor” jumped into a gray SUV and fled the scene.
Mayhew was taken to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital where she later died.
Vanity has always been a concern people have had throughout time. However, it seems today things may be out of hand when people are going around the medical industry into dark alleys, basements and allowing anyone to perform implant surgeries have gotten out of hand.
May this young woman rest in peace, but hopefully the rest of us living can learn a lesson and only deal with licensed medical professionals if they have the desire to get major implant surgery.
