Monday Waller County District Attorney Elton Mathis said prosecutors will handle the Bland death in police custody “as it would be in a murder investigation,” saying that it was “too early” to determine exactly what happened.
Tuesday, Texas Department of Public Safety authorities have announced they are looking into the alleged edits to a 52 minute dashcam video of the traffic stop and arrest of Sandra Bland. Bland was found dead in her jail cell just three days after the arrest.
There are several points in the video that have drawn the concerns of people whom have watched what was released to the public. Many have been pointed out by the likes of Ava DuVernay, the ‘Selma’ director, who said “I edit footage for a living. But anyone can see that this official video has been cut,” via twitter.

In one section of the video, a tow truck driver can be seen walking toward Texas State Trooper Brian Encinia’s cruiser before walking out of the frame. Fifteen seconds later, the same driver reappears and completes the same walk out of the frame as audio of Encinia speaking plays uninterrupted.
From the clip above, you can clearly see the video is on loop being played in connection with the audio put over it. Seems a bit suspicious to say the least, but we know people see what they wish.
[ADSENSE2] At another point in the video, a white car drives into the camera’s view but then immediately disappears. Seconds later, the same car reappears and makes a left-hand turn.
If you haven’t seen the actual footage of the arrest, it is clear the officer was on something else from the start. Bland was clearly annoyed, but it appeared she had every right to be with the treatment of this officer. However, at no time did she attack, hit or even try to hurt the officer.
