Black excellence continues to shine upon the world and it is something we love to hear about and take great pride in spreading to others.
Therefore, let’s take a moment to celebrate, share with our children and ensure the message is spread far and wide.
Ufot Ekong, a Nigerian student, did some pretty amazing things recently in the world of academia. The young man completed a mathematics equation that has remained unsolved for the past 30 years, but he didn’t stop there. He also accomplished much more, which we will explain in a moment.
During Ekong’s first year as an electrical engineering student at the Tokai University in Japan, he solved a math equation that hasn’t been figured out for 30 years, which is an amazing feat.
Obviously, the young man excels in mathematical computation.
Academic Excellence
Upon graduating with his degree in electrical engineering, he set the academic bar for excellence at the university that hasn’t been seen since 1965. He was able to receive six different academic awards from the university, including one for language as he speaks English, French, Japanese, and Yoruba.
Believe it not, Ekong held two separate jobs while studying at the university to fund his education, so he wasn’t always focused on the books. He had to earn his way to stay at the university, which is amazing in itself.
As if this wasn’t enough, the Ekong already holds two patents in the electric car industry and is currently working for Nissan.
This young man is a wonderful example of black excellence around the world and should be held up as an example of what our children can become if we focus our efforts and energy into them.
