The 13 year old baseball phenom, Mo’ne Davis, took the world by storm as she dominated the boys in the Little League World Series. However, the baseball diamond wasn’t enough. Now she wants to help heal the world.
Teaming up with M4D3 (Make A Difference Everyday), Davis has created a lineup of shoes that will benefit girls living in poverty in developing countries. The collection was made specifically for women, but features a wide variety of colors that include her little league team, Taney Dragons, blue and burgundy.
“Designing shoes with M4D3 is exciting and I wanted to support Because I am a Girl to help girls and give them a chance at a better future,” Mo’ne said in a press release about the sneaker collection launch.
The shoes are very interesting and pays homage to the sport she loves with stitching that looks like a baseball.

However, the best part of the shoe, in my opinion, is the heel tag that says “Throw Like A Girl.” This phrase comes from a Chevrolet ad directed by Spike Lee, featuring Mo’ne Davis.
In the commercial, Davis says “I throw 70 mph. That’s throwing like a girl.”
The shoes are priced at $75, but will not be available until June of 2015. However, the special Taney Dragon edition shoes will be available for pre-order next week. You can pre-order at Made-Shoes.com.
Mo’ne Davis changed Little League World Series forever by being the first girl to pitch a shutout and the 2nd girl to play ever. He has been on the cover of Sports Illustrated, Teen Vogue, but clearly isn’t done.
With a little support from her fan base, she will change the world for girls living in poverty in developing countries.
