The day after Phylicia Rashad finally talked publicly about the Bill Cosby rape allegations, she speaks again about being misquoted by online sources.
Rashad spoke out about the man she shared America’s living room with in a red carpet interview with Roger Friedman of Showbiz411. According to her, she was misquoted on the internet as her words were passed around and she wanted to set the record straight.
Rashad sat down with ABC News to do just that.
“He’s a genius, he is generous, he’s kind, he’s inclusive,” Rashad said in the interview that aired on “World News Tonight with David Muir.”
“You were quoted online as saying forget those women,” Davis said to Rashad.
“And that was a misquote. What I said is that this is not about the women; this is about the obliteration of legacy,” Rashad responded. “I am a woman; I would never say such a thing.”
Rashad refused to speak on the rape allegations themselves for obvious reasons that she would be speculating. She also alluded to that being exactly what the media and people are doing without any proof or convictions.
She then went on to make some allegations of her own damning the media and talking about a conspiracy to bring Cosby down.
She said, “What has happened is declaration in the media of guilt, without proof.”
Rashad let it be known that she is a woman and empathizes with all women and the issues they carry, but we shouldn’t be so quick to destroy a man’s legacy over some allegations that could be the fabrication of a few trying to take Cosby down.
She was asked about the conspiracy against Bill Cosby by the Showbiz411 interview.
“Who would have a vested interest in attacking the legacy of Bill Cosby?” Davis asked.
“That’s my question too,” Rashad replied.
Stay tuned, we are sure there is more to come from this neverending story of Bill Cosby’s alleged rape allegations.
