Quvenzhané Wallis Is The New Face of Armani Junior

by | Jan 5, 2015 | Celebrities, News | 0 comments

While Target runs away from the young, black and talented leading actress, Armani embraces the diversity, beauty and grace of the pre-teen phenom, Quvenzhané Wallis.

At just 11 years old, Quvenzhané is the youngest person to represent a global luxury brand. The child star is cute, widely known and ready for the opportunity to represent such an iconic brand.

QuvenzhaneArmani has taken the total opposite route as Target, who decided to remove Quvenzhané from their in-store “Annie” promotions. She was the star of the hit movie “Annie” this year, which is typically depicted as a bright blue eyed little white girl, but Target apparently didn’t want that to be represented in their stores.

However, Armani is embracing the small wonder for her cute, clean, and powerful image to help the brand explode into the young luxury market.

“Quvenzhané is so talented, despite her young age,” Giorgio Armani says in a press release. “Her kindness, curiosity and openness towards others really struck me, as they are all traits I admire. It is for this very reason that I wanted her to be the face of Armani Junior. With her insatiable energy, Quvenzhané made the clothing come alive, interpreting it in her own singular way.”

When Quvenzhane was nominated for best actress at the 2013 Oscars, she wore Armani that night. She was very excited to be chosen for the spot and opportunity to represent Armani Junior.

“I’m so happy to be chosen by Mr. Armani to be his ambassador for Armani Junior. I felt the same excitement when I got cast for a major film. Me? Wow!” she says in the release. Adding: “It’s fun to wear Armani Junior since I really like the clothes. It’s young. It’s cool. My friends are going to want to borrow all my clothes.”
