*Standing Ovation* John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, decided to use their fame, fortune and influence to help those protesting the police murder of Eric Garner and Grand Jury cover up decision of no indictment. The power couple paid for food trucks to be feed the protesters in New York so they would have the energy to continue the fight.
Chrissy is a food blogger and very well known in food and food truck industry. She tweeted out locations of the food trucks in the city they paid for to help the protesters. It didn’t take long for the word to travel and the people to start taking advantage of the assistance.
You don’t often see this sort of involvement by the black celebrity community. However, recently there have been many standing up, getting off the sidelines and getting involved. It is great because their involvement continues to shine the light on the movement, motivates others and goes a long way in improving the staying power of the movement.

Gestures like this remind the black community that not all of our celebrities are willing to turn their backs on our struggles in this country. And it makes them feel great about supporting their music, businesses and future as a result.
Hats off to you John Legend and Chrissy Teigen for being the example we all would love to see by black celebrities and athletes.
